ESBI Computing is pleased to announce that we have launched GeoXplorer™ V 2.1 to the Marketplace.

GeoXplorer™is an off-the-shelf application for delivering web GIS Solutions via the Internet or Intranet. GeoXplorer™ implements the latest web architecture to deliver spatial and enterprise solutions to a wide variety of users via a standard web browser. Here are just some of the benefits the V 2.1 has to offer:

The GIS industry has rapidly adopted web technologies as a means to deliver data to multiple users. GeoXplorer™ has and continues to be the product of choice for many large organisations implementing corporate GIS solutions our clients such as Diageo, TNS, BAA etc. support this fully.

GeoXplorer™ is a highly flexible solution and for this release, ESBI Computing placed a great emphasis on ensuring that GeoXplorer™ would interface and integrate easily with existing IT Systems. GeoXplorer™ is a product that will greatly expand the use of GIS from organisations that have GIS already to those who are just realising the potential benefits that GIS brings. It will provide your organisation the opportunity to provide low cost, easy to use interactive mapping on every users desktop.

All relevant spatial data can now be managed in a single location keeping the administrative and per-user costs much lower that with traditional GIS solutions. End users do not need to be concerned with data management issues, with access to Corporate spatial data provided via an easy to use interface using a web browser.

Functionality GeoXplorer™ V2.1 boasts the following as some of its new functionality:

• Hyper-linking is available to external Applications.
• Mapplet tools including a new Pan Map tool and a Measure Area tool
• The Overview Window is now a floating window which users may close if it is not required
• In the Status bar there is a Measure Tools Results, Window Zoom and Map Scale information
• Active Layer picker
• The Info tool allows users to view Database Information from all vector layers with a single click. The info tool will give spatial information to the user. It has an export button to allow export of the database information.
• The editing functionality allows the user to Edit Spatial and Database information. Within the editing it includes the ability to modify graphic feature styles on the editable map layers.
• New print templates are available which have the ability for organisations to customise their own print templates as required.

GeoController, the system administration module of GeoXplorer™ continues to deliver easy to use system administration functionality to the GIS Administrator. In GeoController the administrator can re-size page headers and the Mapplet window size for GeoXplorer™ profiles. Application linking to external applications can be set-up and delivered to end users. The GIS Administrator can control which users have Edit rights to the information they view with GeoXplorer™. GeoController continues to control which users have access to various data and functionality. It also allows easy administration of Print templates for the organisation.
