Routing applications are used for a variety of purposes including:
Routes can be calculated singly or in batch mode, producing complex
optimised journeys between hundreds of sites.
ESBI Computing supplies a range of 'stand-alone' routing applications
or developer tools, which can embed and call routing functions
in an existing or new application. Our range of products come
from MapInfo® and InfoTech Enterprises Europe.
RouteView Pro is a full-featured software application for routing,
territory planning and journey time catchment area analysis, that
works in conjunction with desktop mapping software.
RouteView Pro™
RouteView RouteX™ is a GIS platform independent OCX control that
allows you to add routing functionality to new or existing applications.
RouteView RouteX™ is based on ActiveX controls and is for use
with mapping objects like MapX™, MapObjects™ and GeoObjects amongst
others. RouteView RouteX™ contains the ability to calculate point-to-point
routing and display journey directions. The latest version now
includes catchment area analysis for travel time and travel distance
analysis.
- Journey Time and Distance Regions - Calculate regions from
a selected point which can highlight roads that fall within
the specified journey time or distance. Calculations may be
carried out using a variety of time and distance measures
- Shortest and Fastest Path Calculation - Calculate either the
shortest or fastest route between any number of points, ideal
for planning pickup and delivery routes
- Route Optimisation - Find the optimum route between a variety
of sites or customers and calculate the journey times and distances
- Journey Directions - Once a route has been calculated RouteView
RouteX™ will return the journey directions
- Data Independent - RouteView RouteX™ works with any dataset
that is link and node
- Dynamically Mapping Aware - RouteView RouteX™ can be used
with a number of mapping front ends and is not restricted to
one mapping method on which to display routes
RouteView Software Developer Kit™ (SDK) allows you to integrate
some or all of the functionality of RouteView Pro™ into your own
application and works with any language that supports DLL calls.
- Create Routing network files - which are the basis of all calculations.
- Set-up the routing - i.e. which map should be loaded and which
network file should be loaded
- Set drive restrictions - one-way, turn, vehicle height, width
and weight, road avoids
- Set-up speeds of a vehicle - on the various categories of road/street
being used
- Calculate a route - between two points on the map given their
co-ordinates
- Set-up the type of route - that should be calculated (fastest
/ shortest / least cost)
- Optimise the journey order
- Calculate - One to Many Matrix distances or Many To Many Distance
Matrices
- Generate Journey Directions
- Calculate a travel time - or travel distance given a starting
co-ordinate on a map and a time or distance
MapInfo® Routing J Server lets you add turn-by-turn driving directions
to any Web-based or Windows-based application. Calculating either
the shortest distance or quickest timed route between any two
points, the Routing J Server returns text-based driving directions
and spatial points to your users. You can select a given point
of origin and either a given number of miles or minutes, and Routing
J Server will calculate a polygonal area representing the territory
within the prescribed drivetime or driving distance. The Routing
J Server is best for applications demanding greater customization,
control and security - ideal for customers with appropriate Web,
database, Java or client/server expertise.
