ESBI Computing awarded OPW Contract

Irish company ESBI Computing together with its sister company ESBI Engineering has just been awarded a large contract by the Office of Public Works (OPW) for the supply of a complete Flood Hazard Mapping Geographic Information System (GIS) and database solution. The total project budget is over €2 million.
The project has two main parts; (a) System and (b) Data Collection. This will be delivered in 4 stages over 5 years, and involves support and maintenance of the system during this period.
The system will include various levels of access via Public Internet and Extranet for LAN / WAN administrator access. It will also include a reporting, editing and data upload service.
The technology used to deliver this solution will be Oracle Spatial, MapXtreme 2004, .NET, on Window Server 2003 load balanced servers, with N-Tier architecture.
The contract was awarded to ESB International subsidiary companies ESBI Computing and ESBI Engineering by open tender. The system will to go live in 2005 and will display historical flood information initially.
