ESBI Computing awarded tender by the Sports Council of Northern Ireland Active Places Web site

Background
The Sports Council for Northern Ireland (SCNI) wishes to make information held on its Facilities Database available to the general public and other interested parties, through the Active Places NI' website. Active Places NI' will provide the public with information on sports facilities any where in Northern Ireland.

Active Places NI' will provide SCNI staff with up-to-date information on current sports facility provision in Northern Ireland and will be a tool to assist in the assessment of future applications to the Sports Council Lottery Fund.

Active Places NI' will also allow agencies such as Planning Service and facility developers to undertake their own tailored analysis of sports facilities provision 'on-line', thereby encouraging to the strategic development of sports facilities in Northern Ireland.

Solution
ESBI Computing are designing and developing a Web GIS solution for the Sports Council. The web site allows users to access information on local sports facilities through a map or a comprehensive query interface. The project includes interfacing with an existing facilities database.

The solution is being developed with .NET, MapInfo MapXtreme 2004 & SQL Server.
